Osa, Greece

The oldest village of Thessaloniki in Greece
Snapshots by Phivos Nicolaides

Osa is a village 35 km from Thessaloniki. It is situated in the North-eastern part of the Prefecture of Thessaloniki, Greece.

Osa is small, charming village of about 400 inhabitants. In ancient times there was a village named Ossa somewhere in the region, but its exact location is unknown.

The village lies 650 metres above the sea level having a mild climate.

Sakis Kotsakis says that the village is the perfect place for anyone that loves peace, quiet and total rest. He comes often here to collect himself.

Osa village, is the birthplace of Sakis (Athanasios) Kotsakis grandfather Athanasios.

The seat of the municipal department of Vertiskos in the prefecture of Thessaloniki is here in Osa. (Picture: Sakis Kotsakis in front of the Town Hall located in Osa).

Kalimera...

Osos does look peaceful & beautiful. What I love about Greece is her quiet villages with narrow streets and old homes. Great photos and "Yasu" to Sakis!!

Have a wonderful weekend~

@ Cheryl. Kalimera, good morning Cheryl. Osa is a peaceful and beautiful place. I'm sure you'll like it. It's only 25 minutes drive from Salonica. Ask Sakis to take you there for a visit. Have a joyful weekend!

@ Mitr Friend - Bhushavali. Thank you. I'll wish a happy birthday to your friend!

@ Desire Fourie. It is excactly as you describe this charming village. Regarding women deep digging in their handbags.... As the statistics say, 98% of women are gold diggers, meaning that if you don't meet their income requirements - you are in trouble!
So they always dig a little bit deeper to find the hidden gem!!

@ JamanFou.
