St Patrick's Day parade in New York

These little “Leprechauns” were so beautiful and posed the minute they saw me taking their pictures!
This girl was having a great time - trust me! Ha!
There were people from all over.
There were even Leprechauns.
Saint Patrick's Day is a yearly holiday celebrated on 17 March. It is named after Saint Patrick, the most commonly recognized of the patron saints of Ireland.
The first St. Patrick's Day parade in NYC took place on March 17, 1762 when Irishmen from the evolutionary War brought the tradition to the New World.
It wouldn't be St. Paddy's Day without the bagpipes!
One of the many, many banners and flags being carried through the parade.
There were bands from all over.
It was so worth fighting the crowds to get a few pictures.
The St. Patrick's Day Parade is one of New York City's greatest traditions.

Great photos! Saint Patrick's Day sounds like a great fun day! Most Irish pubs in Larnaca were packed on the 17th - especially those at the seafront- even though we don't celebrate that day!
