Brugge is the capital and largest city of the province of West Flanders in the Flemish Region of Belgium. It is located in the northwest of the country.
Natasa Mavromati, Christina Ioannou and Aris Kyprianou, ready for an interesting tour of the amazing city of Brugge!
The city has been always cherished with architectural and artistic treasures from the past.
The city's total population is 120,000 of which around 20,000 live in the historic centre. The metropolitan area, has a total of 260,000 inhabitants. (Photo: Popi and Voula Firipi).
Brugge is the home of the College of Europe. (Photo: Christina, Natasa, Eleftheria and Aris at the train station of the city.
Bruges is a charming Belgian medieval city that is essentially unchanged for hundreds of years.
More than 50 bridges span the beautiful canals in the city. A river or canal cruise is a must!
Along with a few other canal-based northern cities, such as Amsterdam, it is sometimes referred to as "The Venice of the North". (Photo: Christina, Natasa and Aris enjoying the tour).
No wonder why Bruges is visited by a huge number of tourists from all over the world.
Full of interesting architecture, fascinating cobblestone streets and peaceful canals, Brugge is a tourist's dream.
Interesting monuments, rich museums, and the unspoiled historic fascinating old city.
The historic city centre is a prominent World Heritage Site of UNESCO.

The sight of the canal water is magnetic. I visited the city in the past and I would gladly visit it again, given the opportunity.

Popi, these are wonderful photos of a place I know very little about. Your information helped me to realize that this could be one of my favorite cities! It already is, even though I have not yet seen it. :)
It is interesting to know the College of Europe is centered there. And those beautiful canals! Does Bruge have a problem with crumbling and decay the way Venice is experiencing? It may not be built below sea level the way Venice was... I ask because it appears that the city is in fine shape.
