Thessaloniki, Greece

Beautiful Thessaloniki (Salonica)
The city's most famous landmark, the White Tower was originally built as part of the city walls.
Its history dates back more than 4000 years. The city was founded in 315 B.C. by Cassander, king of Macedonia, and named it after his wife, Thessaloniki, stepsister of Alexander the Great.
From left to right, Sakis Kotsakis, Costas Hatzis, Popi and Phivos Nicolaides, Chryso and Phivos Kyriakides.
During the last 20 centuries Thessaloniki is the capital of Macedonia in the north, which was the realm of Alexander the Great.

Thessaloniki, (also known as Salonica or Saloniki) the princess of Thermaikos gulf is the capital of Macedonia province in Greece. It is the second largest city after the capital city of Athens.
During the Byzantine era, Salonica, as it was then known, was the second city after Constantinople (Istanbul), remaining so until its sacking by Saracens in 904.

Gorgeous sea view of Thermaikos gulf.
With our loving friends from Thessaloniki, having fun.
Partial view of the gulf with the marvelous blue water.
Having really good time and fun with handsome Fotis and his charming sisters Isabela and Alexandra, the three children of our friends Cheryl and Kostas Hatzis. (Double of ex-prime minister Costas Karamanlis)!
Deep blue waters of the Aegean Sea in the Mediterranean Sea.

Gorgeous beachfront coffee shop with beautiful swimming pool.

Warm reception and wonderful hospitality by Sakis, Kostas and Cheryl. Thanks folks for being great hosts to our stay here in Thessaloniki.
