Pointe du Raz or Raz Beg ar in Breton is the westernmost land of France.

This rocky spur with 70m high jagged cliffs resembles a ship’s bow that projects itself into the raging waters of the stretch of sea locally known as Raz de Sein.
Αυτές οι βραχώδεις προεξοχές με οδοντωτούς βράχους ύψους 70 μέτρων μοιάζουν με πλώρη πλοίου, που προβάλλει μέσα από τα μανιασμένα νερά της θάλασσας, που  τοπικά είναι γνωστή ως Raz de Sein.

This exceptional site offers a spectacular view of the Raz de Sein and Phare de La Vieille (the lighthouse off the Pointe du Raz).

It is located on the Cap Sizun, the western tip of Cornouaille (Kerne, Kernev or Bro Gerne in Breton and Cornugallia in Latin), located in the department of Finistère.

The Pointe du Raz is a promontory that extends into the Atlantic from western Brittany, in France.

It is named after the Raz de Sein, the dangerous stretch of water between it and the island of Sein (Enez Sun in Breton). It is a dramatic place of crashing waves and strong winds.
Πήρε το όνομά του από το Raz de Sein, το επικίνδυνο τμήμα του νερού ανάμεσα σε αυτό και το νησί Sein. Είναι ένα δραματικό μέρος με κύματα και δυνατούς ανέμους.

The word raz was borrowed from Norman by the Bretons and shares the same etymology as the English word race, "strong current of water"; both are from Old Norse rás.
Η λέξη raz είναι δανεισμένη από τους Βρετόνους της Νορμανδίας και μοιράζεται την ίδια ετυμολογία με την αγγλική λέξη race, «ισχυρό ρεύμα νερού». Και τα δύο προέρχονται από την Παλαιά Σκανδιναβική rás.

It is classified as Grand Site of France and attracts over a million visitors annually.

This Breton maritime word means narrow passage, an underwater canyon where sea currents rush with force.

The tides of the Raz de Sein strike the Pointe du Raz and surrounding littoral.

They create the jagged cliffs that turn the promontory into one of the most photographed natural sites in Brittany!

The raz and their raging waters gave rise to many legends.

     It also inspired many great French authors such as Gustave Flaubert and Victor Hugo.
Ενέπνευσε και πολλούς σπουδαίους Γάλλους συγγραφείς όπως ο Gustave Flaubert και ο Victor Hugo.

All largely contributed to the notoriety of this unique natural site. As a result, the Pointe du Raz has become an area protected under the label Grand Site de France.

Kledenn - ar-C'hab (French: Cléden-Cap-Sizun) is a community in Departamant Penn-ar-bed (Finistère French), Brittany.

Socated in the heart of the village, surrounded by an enclosure which is none other than the old cemetery, this church, beautiful and vast, presents a large number of styles in its architecture.
